In his current role as VZI Head of Exploration, Markus is responsible for all aspects of Greenfield and Brownfields exploration in Africa, ranging from grassroots discovery to mine-site resource development.
During his 20-year career, which included 10 years with Anglo American, Markus held a range of senior exploration management positions and worked in a number of jurisdictions. While his key expertise lies in base metals of southern Africa, his global experience coverers a range of commodities and mineral systems.
Key achievements throughout his career, include the discovery of the Gergarub Pb-Zn deposit in Namibia and the declaration of a significant maiden Pb-Zn-Ag resource at Big Syncline in South Africa.
